The House Finch

There are 10 different species of Finches in Wisconsin. They range in colors from red, yellow, purple and grey.

These two happen to be male and female House Finches. They were perched high up on a pine tree enjoying the warmth of the sun.

These little birds usually stay around here during the winter months. They are one of my favorites of the Finch family, mainly because of their red color.
