Spring time and the Chickadee
Yes Spring was in the air and birds began building their nests everywhere. The birds happy and busy flying to and frow looking for nesting material.
I happened to be setting up my camera and tripod. When I noticed this chickadee hanging around one of my old maple trees that I tap for making maple syrup.
He was going in and out of a hole in the tree. I thought this is great, maybe he’s making a nest in there. He’d go in and stay there for quite some time. When he finally pocked his head out, with a beak full of tree shavings. How interesting, I had no idea they used the inside of tree pulp for nesting.
One day I”ll find a chickadee nest to photograph, I’d love to see their little eggs at a birds eye view.
