August 2018: Waxing Crescent Moon

The Waxing Crescent Moon August 16, 2018 at 27.9%.

Just happened to look very orange tonight, it reminded me of the Harvest Moon.

Because we are starting to go near the fall months and the leaves have begun to change.

Pumpkin spice everything begins to come to mind for me as well as fall decorating.

Augusts Native American Moons name is the Sturgeon Moon.

Some Native Americans knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes were ready for harvest during the full Moon.

The August Full Moon will be on August 26th. Along with the full moon will also be Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter.

So if you happen to be outside in the night, take a look up and enjoy the beautiful orange pumpkin in the sky.

                                                                                   Happy star-gazing!
