Trunk of Wildflowers Box Card
Loving the Trunk of Wildflowers Box Card. From the Wildflower Saloon SVG Kit from Svgcuts.com.
Since I’m a Wyoming gal, I fell in love with this kit as soon as Mary released it!
So many cute ideas you could use this for. From parties to your own decor.
As many of you may know, I really enjoy Mary’s box’s cards. They are a lot of fun to put together with so much detail. They make for a big statement!
If your into antiques or the wild west, then this kit is for you.
She included a Quilt box for gifts, a 3d barrel, 3d cowboy hat, the wildflowers box card.
As well as a 3d lantern that you can place a battery operated tea light in it.
Perfect for guys or gals of any age. This is an svg cut file, so you will need a cutting machine to cut this out. Either something like a Silhouette Cameo or a Cricut machine.
The Svgcuts.com box cards all come with an envelope cut-file to match with each card. So when you give your hand-made card you won’t need to worry about trying to find a matching envelope.
If your wanting to send your box cards through the mail. I recommend you putting them in a padded envelope to send them out. If the card is bigger or bulky I add a little extra padding to protect it from being bent. I’ve never had any issues with my box cards getting bent and they’ve made it their destination safely.
With Mary’s cards I like to add extra foam tape for a lot of layered 3d effects. Such as the flowers above, many of the petals have the foam tape in between each layer.
You can have a lot of fun dressing up your cards any way you like. Add what ever you have, I just used the pearls I had on hand for the little flower centers. As well as brads for the trunk accents.
The back side of the Wildflowers box card, with an area for you to be able to write your message, if you wish.
Another reason I love Mary’s cards, is she makes a space for a stamped saying or write your own. I usually leave them blank, not always. I just prefer to hand write a message on note paper. The cards turn out so beautiful, I like keeping them the way they are.
The paper I used for the Trunk Wildflowers box card was from the Cowboy Country collection pack from Carta Bella. I absolutely love this paper pack, the design is wonderful as well as the weight. Carta Bella is one of my very favorite paper crafting companies. They have some of the best designs!
The textured 12×12 brown paper I used for the trunk itself, is from the open stock at Joanne Fabrics. They carry a good variety of colors, textured or smooth. I usually prefer the textured for making the box and for the other design pieces. Then save the smooth paper for stamping or writing my message on.
Watch Joanne Fabrics for their paper sales, that’s the time I stock up on my colors.
Working with paper is one of my favorite mediums to work with. Especially when using my Silhouette machine, it has opened up s whole new world for me!
